Requirement of Address Proof
For Hong Kong company incorporation, it is required to provide the residential address of each individual director and individual shareholder for registration. This address can be a non-Hong Kong address however “Care of” address and P.O Box address will not be accepted.
Regarding company bank account opening, generally, banks would obtain due diligence documents when handling the applications. It is required to provide residential address proof of each director, shareholder and bank signer for KYC (Know Your Customer) purpose.

Here are some of the examples of proper address proof to be provided for company registration and bank application: –
1. Utility Bill such as water bill, phone bill, cable bill or internet bill which is issued within the last 3 months;
2. Bank account statements or Bank Reference Letter issued within 3 months;
3. Correspondence from government departments or authorities issued within the last 3 months; OR
4. Government-issued National Identity Card containing the current residential address.
The proof of address must bear the applicant’s full name in which same as the name shown in the identity documents. Issue date which is within last 3 months and applicant’s valid address must show clearly in colour copy. Please be aware that address printed on envelopes is not acceptable.
Proper Address Proof for Incorporation & Bank account application
If the address proof is not in English or Chinese, you should provide certified translation arranged by a professional third party like lawyers, notaries, CPA or consulates. Please note that banks may requires for original copies OR original of certified true copies.
