A: There are 3 types of work permit most common for foreign professionals:

Type A

This is the most common type of work permit for foreign professionals to apply. The applicant must possess a certain education level or working experience. 

Type B

This is available for the responsible manager of the Taiwan business entity. 1 entity can only apply for 1 this type of work permit.

Gold card

This is available for foreigners who have a “specified profession”. The requirements depend on the type of professional area.

A: You can hire 1 foreigner as the responsible manager and multiple professionals for your Taiwan entity. 

However, there are criteria for both employer and employee to be met in order to apply for the work permit.

The foreign professionals who worked and stayed in Taiwan more than 183 days in the consecutive 5 years.

Foreigners with specified profession

The foreign professionals who worked and stayed in Taiwan more than 183 days in the consecutive 3 years.

Once you meet the above requirement, you need to submit the application within 2 years.
